April 2011 – This April PBS will begin airing a six-part series on Autism. The series will contain stories about families living with autism, the prevalence of autism, and how social services change for an autistic child reaching adulthood.
The schedule of stories:
April 18 – An introduction to Autism with a personal story about a child named Nick who has autism.
April 19 – Autism Prevalence – Examines why Autism is increasing.
April 20 – Autism Causes – The increase in research to find what causes autism.
April 21 – Autism Treatment – A focus on ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis).
April 25 – Adults with Autism – Examines what happens when a child with autism becomes an adult.
April 26 – Autism Policy – The final in the series discusses the avaiability of services for people with autism.
